Customer Background
A Vietnamese winery specializing in fruit wine production is well known for its hawthorn wine, valued for its natural ingredients and distinctive flavor. However, during production, the clarity of the wine has been a key factor affecting product quality and consumer experience.
To improve product appearance and stability, the customer entrusted our technical team to conduct filtration optimization experiments.
Customer Challenges
High initial turbidity of the raw wine (initial turbidity: 199), affecting transparency and shelf-life stability;
The need to significantly improve clarity without damaging active components;
Requirement to balance filtration efficiency and processing capacity for future large-scale production.
Solution
On September 29, 2025, our technical engineers conducted a systematic filtration test using vertical filtration equipment. Two filtration approaches were evaluated:
Single-stage filtration:Filter sheets: SCP-332 (pore size: 0.8–1.5 μm)
Experimental Results
The combined filtration solution demonstrated superior performance across all stages:
High filtration speed (up to 121.95 L/min/m² at the initial stage);
Stable operating pressure (0.01–0.1 MPa);
Strong processing capacity, with maximum throughput significantly exceeding single-stage filtration.
Customer Value
Significantly improved clarity: Turbidity reduced to 4.85, approaching the level of naturally settled hawthorn wine;
Retention of active components: Gentle filtration process preserved key functional substances;
High filtration efficiency: Large processing capacity per unit area, suitable for scale-up production;
Process controllability: Clear and stable operating parameters, easy to replicate in production.
Customer Feedback
“After applying the combined filtration process, our hawthorn wine became bright and clear without any loss of flavor. This greatly enhanced product quality. We appreciate the professional support from the technical team. The solution is highly practical, and we plan to implement it across our entire fruit wine product line.” — Technical Manager
Application Recommendation
Based on the experimental results, we recommend adopting the SCP-321 + SCP-336 combined filtration solution for large-scale production.
This approach is highly suitable for the clarification of hawthorn wine and other fruit wines, especially in applications requiring high clarity while preserving active components.
